Follow me on Twitter Country singer Sara Evans has quit ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” mid-season to focus on divorcing her husband, Craig Schelske. In papers filed Thursday, Evans alleges that her husband committed adultery, was verbally and emotionally abusive, drank excessively, watched pornography on the computer, and has at least 100 nude photographs of himself in a state of arousal.
Schelske denied all of the allegations in statement issued Friday night: “I have made the decision to forgive Sara for the unfortunate campaign that she and her publicity advisors are currently waging. Sara has unfortunately become a dramatically different person over the last year and it is something we have struggled to deal with. Sadly, it appears we have failed.”
And therein lies one of the many fundamental flaws in marriage: You are expected to open up and bare your soul to your mate, only to have your mate use your inner demons against you in a court of law. For the sake of their three kids, let’s hope that Evans and Schelske find a way to battle in a more private venue.
